Leader Education are recruiting a teacher to work at a small Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This unit caters children aged 6-16 years old who may be permanently excluded, identified as close to permanent exclusion or those who cannot attend school because of health needs. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient and hold a qualified teacher status ( QTS) as well as some relevant experience working alongside young people that may demonstrate elements of challenging behaviour and who may struggle with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health. The most recent Ofsted inspection for this PRU was reported as "Good" with their core values being growth, respect, opportunity and well-being and continuing to enable pupils to succeed through targeted interventions and programmes. The ideal candidate will have: An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A qualified teacher status (QTS) Some experience working with or alongside pupils that may exhibit some elements of challenging behaviour A compassionate, resilient and patient personality A great understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people Be familiar with some tailored interventions and programmes that are used to support children and young people experiencing struggles with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
