Our client, a leading sector-focused national firm with a strong sense of purpose, is seeking to recruit an NQ-2 years PQE Solicitor to play a key role in its thriving Commercial/IT team to be based in the firm’s Birmingham, Bristol, or Leeds office.
The Commercial/IT team has excellent in-depth, industry-focused expertise and advises both public and private sector clients on a wide range of high-profile and high-value commercial/ICT projects, outsourcing arrangements, and general commercial contracts. In an increasingly complex and competitive commercial landscape, the team is helping more and more clients keep pace with commercial change.
The successful candidate will join a fast-expanding team and will have the chance to be part of, and help shape, the firm’s ambitious commercial growth plans.
The day-to-day role will focus on commercial contracts for the likes of Central Government bodies, a range of arms’ length bodies, executive agencies, NHS bodies, local authorities, and private sector companies.
This role will include working closely with a key commercial partner to develop a new and innovative service offering to the firm’s existing client base. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial and IT projects within a multi-disciplinary team.
The remit of the role is intentionally broad, providing challenging and interesting work, giving the successful lawyer extensive client contact from the outset. You will be supported by an experienced, inclusive team and provided with excellent training and opportunities for progression.
Required Skills:
1. Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and contract management support.
2. Ability to work in a team, coordinating advice with other fee earners.
3. Effective client liaison skills.
4. Practical and commercial approach.
5. Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
6. Strong training either in private practice, in-house at a tech firm, or within the public sector.
