As the MEA Communications Manager, you will own the benefit communication strategy for employees in a growing portfolio of countries in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). This entails collaborating with program owners to set annual priorities that will inform both the content for your editorial calendar and your execution strategy to effectively reach a distributed and largely mobile workforce. As the single point of contact for MEA Benefits Communication, you own end-to-end project management, development, production, publishing, and distribution of digital and print communications across internal channels. You will also have the opportunity to experiment with different communications tactics and channels, and to build new messaging strategies and programs aimed at improving awareness and engagement rates. A successful candidate is a skilled internal communications professional with a passion for advancing health and wellness among employees, their families, and the communities in which they live. This role requires an excellent writer and editor with the curiosity to dive deep into unfamiliar and/or complex subject matter, and a talent for transforming technical details into straightforward, approachable communications that are easy for readers to consume and understand. They believe no detail is too small and insist on the same high standards when communicating with employees as they would with customers. They’re a collaborative problem-solver who can make things happen in a complex, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment. The successful candidate will also possess curiosity for experimenting with artificial intelligence to scale communications across a diverse portfolio of countries. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the EMEA Benefits Communication Leader. This role can be based in London or Luxembourg. Key job responsibilities - Develop and execute communication strategies that allow Amazonians in MEA to understand and engage with their benefits. - Manage an annual communications editorial calendar that aligns with key benefits initiatives and priorities in MEA (i.e. enrollment windows) and global benefits campaigns. - Develop multi-channel strategies for proactive regional campaigns to deliver results against company objectives. - Manage an intake process to support reactive requests for communication needs in the region. - Ensure all content is factually accurate, grammatically correct, and adheres to our internal communication tenets and tone of voice. - Own pre-production and publishing of communications and materials using communication tools according to business need and established editorial calendar. - Work with in-country stakeholders (benefits consultants and operations, DEI teams, etc) to understand local nuances and adapt global or regional content for a local audience. - Partner with stakeholders to build efficient processes and a templated approach to content production for scalability. - Understand and respond to testing metrics and performance data to define, adjust, and influence the direction of content and communications. - Stay current on communication best practices and make recommendations on ways to improve our communications initiatives. - Contribute to and own wider strategic initiatives on the team. Cross-functional teams, such as Benefits, Employee Relations, Compliance, and HR will rely on your deep communications expertise and counsel to mitigate risk with astute copy writing and support during issue management. They will also look to you to spot opportunities for further amplification of positive messages, requiring you to endlessly build your internal network and knowledge of internal tools and systems.
