We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to cover maternity leave for approx 6/9 months at Kenmore Medical Centre in Wilmslow. We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse to support us in providing our patients with the highest standard of care.
Monday - Friday including Late evening on a Wednesday.
INTERVIEWS TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY 4TH DECEMBER - PM
Planned start date early February 2025. Pay negotiable dependant on experience.
Main duties of the job
1. Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes which promote health and well being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well being.
2. Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with a known long term condition.
3. Proactively identify and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long term condition as appropriate.
4. Undertake agreed procedures (e.g., blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm, temperature, height and weight, body mass index, venepuncture, ear syringing, ECG, peak flow readings, cytology, travel and childhood vaccinations).
5. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiating effective emergency care.
6. Assess and care for patients attending with wounds.
7. Implement and participate in immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
8. Assist in minor surgery.
9. Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles to ensure that patients are fully informed and consent to treatment.
10. Communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background, and language differences.

We are a friendly, forward-thinking practice with 3 partners, 8 salaried GPs, and 2 Nurse Clinicians. Our experienced nursing team includes a Health Care Assistant and a Phlebotomist, supported by a stable administrative team. We are high QOF achievers and our CQC rating is good. We use EMISWeb and are paperlite with Docman.
Job responsibilities

6. Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patients' needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols.
7. Assess and care for patients attending with wounds.
8. Implement and participate in immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
9. Assist senior practitioners in providing minor surgery.
Person Specification
Experience
* Management of long-term conditions (e.g., Diabetes, Family Planning, and Cardiac Clinics).
* Wound care assessment.
* Involvement in implementing and using protocols, clinical guidelines and working under PGDS.
* Experience of audit.
Skills
* Clinical skills in immunisations (adult and childhood vaccinations), venepuncture, dressings, cervical cytology, ECG, ear syringing, and sexual health.
* Ability to help support patients to change lifestyle.
* Communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications
* Registered first level nurse.
