Financial Management department is in charge of planning, organising, directing and controlling the financial activities of the Bank. The department performs a variety of financial functions, including accounting and financial reporting, fixed asset and expenses management, budget and management reporting, taxation (indirect and direct), regulatory reporting, treasury (asset and liability management) and capital management. As an Assistant Vice President - Regulatory Reporting (Balance Sheet Management), you will be responsible for preparing and analysing Bank of England’s Statistical Reporting, FINREP, Branch returns and support Head office requirements and data enhancement project. You will ensure that the Bank of China Group policy and regulatory requirements are adhered to. This is a 24 months fixed term contract position. Key responsibilities Responsible for the preparation and analysis of Sub and Branch entities’ monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc statistical and balance sheet reporting; this includes but is not limited to BT, EL, AD, AL, BE, BN, FI, LN, CA, CC, CL, PL and BG Improve operational process in the Statistical and FINREP side of Regulatory Reporting including both Sub and Branch entities Assist in preparing FSA017 Interest Rate Risk Return Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders for quality control and analysis Prepare and review balance sheet and statistical deliverables due via BOE for both Sub and Branch entities Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process improvement and efficiency Interpret and implement data management projects when required Reply to Regulator on queries raised on returns Keep up to date of APC mapping within Reg system Upkeep of procedure manual and EUCs Requirements Degree educated preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other equivalent Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Experience in Regulatory/Financial Reporting on BoE and FIRNEP reporting in UK Banking industry Confidence and ability to be the balance sheet management Subject Matter Expert Knowledge of Retail and Commercial Banking products Knowledge of BoE Statistical reporting and branch reporting guidance Knowledge of FIRNEP rules Attention to detail Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access Good organisational skills Experience in people management is desirable Team player Excellent communication skills Working here Having a presence in the UK for more than 90 years, Bank of China London Branch has been providing an excellent financial service to the market and maintain its competitive edge as an international bank operated in the UK.
