The Role
Reporting to the IT Director, this person will lead a highly technical team of Infrastructure Engineers and Security Managers focused on Project and BAU Maintenance for both on-premise and Cloud Infrastructure and security. This role will work with senior stakeholders to provide technically strategic decisions which will ensure the stability, reliability, scalability, and security of the environment.
The role is highly technical and will be expected to lead from the front with a hands-on mentality of projects and maintenance, taking responsibility for technical implementation and supporting the team where required mentoring technical ability.
You will develop a team of highly technical engineers to ensure that business objectives are met. This person will be required to work with members of the senior leadership team, operational teams, and functional Heads to understand business requirements for both Project and BAU work.
This role requires the ability to forge excellent relationships with the IT Services & Asset Manager, ensuring excellent service is provided to the business. Outside of Pret, this person will manage the external relationships with relevant suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and manage support contracts.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for maximum uptime in the business by continually reviewing monitoring platforms for risks.
* A supportive leader providing support to team members where required.
* Responsible for reporting all risks and SLA’s.
* Motivated and lead a technically minded team that embodies the company values and consistently enables the business.
* Ensuring the Infrastructure ticket queue is maintained.
* Delivery of key strategic projects promoting transition to cloud technologies.
* On-call as required to ensure all escalations are dealt with and services are maintained.
* Maximise uptime by ensuring risks highlighted by monitoring are addressed.
* Promoting ideas and new technologies which are aligned to business objectives.
* Provide capacity planning information for major projects and highlight risks.
* Mentor and train Infrastructure Engineers.
* Resolution of 4th line technical and service issues, when escalated by 3rd line support engineers.
* Document solutions and technical plans.
* Participate in all Critical Issue and Solution management calls while on shift or on call and drive to resolution.
* Provide Technical Governance across multiple projects and clients.
* Lead in ensuring Disaster recovery is usable and fit for purpose.
Skills and Experience
* Highly reactive and engaged but can also demonstrate vision and foresight.
* Customer Service driven individual who understands the importance of the person and the business behind the technology.
* Technical leadership experience with delivery and project ownership.
* Analytic problem solver.
* Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering solutions for technical support and infrastructure management in large organisations.
* Able to translate non-technical objectives into technical solutions whilst being commercially aware.
* HND or higher and relevant Microsoft qualifications.
* Detail focused, with the ability to identify risk.
* Experience in managing Senior Project stakeholders.
