Behaviour Mentor (Teaching Assistant) – Stretford

A secondary school just to the East of the city centre is looking for a Behaviour Mentor/Teaching Assistant to join their highly supportive team. The school is a highly reputable school and has an Inclusion centre within their SEN department as well as a specific area where students can work so they aren’t permanently excluded.
This area has 9 – 12 students in at any one time and is highly supportive with the successful Behaviour Mentor being situated in this area working with a small group of students and on a 1 to 1 basis. The school is seeking someone who is keen to work with young people who don’t want to be in school or are experienced Mentors or Learning Support Assistants.

The successful candidate should be keen to work with students that may have behavioural issues or require additional attention and support. The school has a strong support network and believes in an inclusive nature. They are therefore looking for a motivated individual who has previous experience working with students either in a secondary school setting or a pupil referral unit.
Ideally, the successful mentor will be able to relate to the students well, acting as a role model and someone they can look up to. Engaging with the students is the key to this role and will suit someone who can build on relationships and gain the trust and buy-in from students.
