Our client based in Fofar is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team on a year's contract. This role will entail travel to Montrose.
Financial Planning And Analysis:
1. Assist with the financial planning and analysis tasks for 2 ledgers (UK and Baku) within the Rig Aftermarket team, across various departments.
2. Assist the local management team with reporting, analysis, and presentation on actual, forecast, and plan numbers.
3. Review ongoing projects for the relevant Business Units to ensure timely and accurate revenue and cost recognition.
4. Assist in the completion and review of monthly P&L and management reports and preparation of variance analysis to the FP&A Manager.
5. Prepare Labour recovery reconciliations for several Business Units and assist the FP&A manager with their review.
6. Review aged WIP and provide commentary to ensure projects are completed on a timely basis and feed this into the accounting team for SOX purposes.
7. Review and reconcile relevant Contract Assets and Liabilities sections, including aging monitoring and commentary.
8. Conduct monthly working capital analysis and commentary.
9. Monitor monthly Capex spend and forecast against budget.
10. Assist with monthly Forecast and Annual Financial Plan preparation.
11. Build good working relationships with team members and business partners.
12. Proactively analyze cost trends within the departmental P&Ls.
13. Look for efficiencies and continuous improvement in systems and procedures related to FP&A and reporting.
Accounting Tasks:
1. Perform accounting tasks for FP&A related areas and provide support to a wider Finance team in Rig Aftermarket.
2. Prepare and post monthly journals relating to the FP&A areas.
3. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
4. Support the wider business with information requests (external and internal auditors; tax; compliance; Statutory Accounting team, others).
5. Deal with AR and AP departments and related issues as required.
6. Support month-end close and subsequent reporting.
7. Other accounting and FP&A tasks as required.
Desired Qualities/Qualifications:
Essential:
1. Degree in Accountancy or Finance or equivalent.
2. Experienced business partner working with non-financial management.
3. Experience working within known ERP systems.
4. Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
5. Great communication skills.
6. Excellent analytical skills.
Desirable:
1. Professional accountancy qualification such as CIMA / ACCA.
2. Working within a financial/accounting environment of a larger entity – 3 years +.
3. Experience of POC accounting methods.
4. Experience working within Oracle and Glovia ERP systems.
