The opportunity
Reporting to the Clinical Program Manager, this full-time position will provide operational support and clinical leadership to a geographically dispersed team of Social Workers & Counsellors, proactively supporting a positive work culture and enabling change management.
You will act as the lead subject matter expert to senior and executive leaders, and:
* Provide clinical expertise and contribute to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of clinically therapeutic outcomes-based Skills for Recovery programs and other recovery oriented clinical programs.
* Manage a multi-disciplinary team to deliver evidence based and informed treatments to both current and former serving Defence personnel and their families.
* Work with Clinical Lead peers (physical rehabilitation and psychology) and more broadly with the Clinical Program Manager to develop a holistic service model incorporating physical, mental and social wellbeing.
* Proactively establish positive and productive internal and external working relationships with key stakeholders, plus much more.
About you
We are seeking someone who is passionate about providing leadership and support to a multi-disciplinary team of Social Workers and Counsellors, while working closely with community members.
Holding a current membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers, you should be experienced working directly with community members experiencing a range of social, financial, physical and/or psychological issues and able to provide supervision to Social Workers and Counsellors, within professional scope. You should also:
* Hold a Bachelor of Social Work.
* Have a proven and relevant record of achievement as a manager.
* Experienced in intake and assessment or conducting structured interviews and assessments with people seeking assistance within a community services environment.
* Well-developed oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and computer proficiency,
including the ability to use client information management systems.
* Demonstrated accountability and proficiency in record keeping.
* Strong and demonstrated awareness of diversity.
* Have experience in operational management of staff and leadership to a multidisciplinary team.
* Work effectively both independently and as part of a leadership team, with demonstrated accountability and proficiency in clinical report writing.
* Have experience in providing expert advice to strategically influence and aid organisational decision making.
While not a requirement, it is advantageous to have:
* Direct experience in delivering services to current or ex-serving Defence personnel and their families.
