JobSummary:
SEN Transportrequire 10 drivers to transport students with special educationalneeds and/or disabilities to and from school within the Liverpoolarea.
The driverswill be required to work 24.5 hoursper week working of a morning andafternoon transporting children & young people to theireducational settings of a morning from home to school and returnjourney of an afternoon from school tohome.
The morningshift will start approximately 8am until all children have beentransported toschool.
The afternoonshift will start approximately 2.30pm until the children aretransported home. The driver will be responsible for completingvehicle checks at the beginning and end ofshifts.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities:
Working on apart time basis on split shift during peak periods of the day towork under the general direction and supervision of transport andother authorisedofficers
To undertakethe driving of any vehicle (within their class of licence) attachedto the department and to carry out all duties connected therewithin an efficient economical and orderly manner. Also the safetransportation of fellow employees and any other authorisedpersonal.
To beresponsible for assisting service users from their home to thevehicle; securing them safely during the journey and assisting themfrom the vehicle at their destination. Also to be responsible forensuring the safe return of service users to their homeaddress.
To ensure RiskAssessment control measures identified on the route runsheets areimplemented and adheredto.
To be alwayssympathetic and courteous to service users carried in the vehicleand to treat their relatives with who contact is made in a similarmanner.
To beresponsible for the cleanliness of the inside and outside of thevehicles attached to thesection.
To beresponsible for the Vehicle Daily Checks (includingwalkaround checks) fuelling and oiling of vehicles andservicing the vehicle with airwater.
To receiveservicebased training as required to ensure safe and complianttransport of passengers. To adhere to the guidance set out in thePassenger Transport Servicehandbook.
To completedaily run sheets fully and any other documentation associated withthe operation of the SENService.
To reportpromptly on the form provide any incident whatsoever in which avehicle of the Transport Section is involved in irrespective ofwhether a third party is concerned. Also any accidents to serviceusers or staff while in the care of the department must be reportedin the sameway.
EssentialQualificationsRequired:
We require thedrivers to hold a full UK manual drivinglicence.

This role issubject to an Enhanced DBS & barred list check(Child).
Training willbe provided on the Local Authorities transport procedures andpolicies.
