Align people initiatives with the firm’s business strategy to enhance performance and employee engagement. Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and recommend improvements. Participate in the HR aspects of organisational change programmes Employee Relations and Culture: Provide expert advice on employee relations issues, including performance management, grievance, and disciplinary matters, ensuring compliance with UK employment law. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, driving cultural change across the firm. Foster an environment of continuous feedback and improvement, supporting the firm’s commitment to learning and development. Talent Management & Workforce Planning: Partner with stakeholders to identify talent gaps and create strategies for recruitment, retention, and succession planning. Partner on performance review cycles and career development planning. Work with managers and the Recruitment team to reach and maintain headcount targets Policy, Systems & Compliance: Ensure all HR policies and procedures are up to date, compliant with UK legislation, and reflective of best practice in the legal sector. Provide guidance on the application of policies to ensure consistency and fairness. Contribute to maintaining employee and general data, including supporting our PeopleHR Information System and associated processes Contribute to the monthly payroll process as required Change Management Manage the people aspects of change, ensuring effective communication and minimal disruption. Any other duties commensurate with the role and skills Essential Skills and Attributes: A good level of generalist HR knowledge and experience (including recruitment, performance management and general HR management principles) Proactive approach, with the ability to identify issues and take the lead on developing solutions Strong organisation skills: able to plan and co-ordinate work and deliver on time Work well as part of a busy team of both generalists and specialists Excellent ICT skills (particularly Microsoft Excel), with a positive approach to technology Comfortable dealing with data, conducting analysis and presenting findings to managers Desirable Skills and Experience: Level 5 CIPD qualification (or equivalent) or working towards A legal sector background is not required, however experience of working in professional services would be beneficial Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practises Familiarity with HR analytics and how to use data to inform strategy We reserve the right to close this role before the date specified depending on the calibre and volume of candidates.
