Working with one of BakerHicks' key clients in the Nuclear sector, working in a highly regulated environment subject to strict security and safety requirements, this client provides customers with engineering and project management services, as well as digital services and solutions to optimise the performance of complex infrastructure projects throughout their life cycle. You will join this client project as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, working onsite with their end client, supporting the upgrade and maintenance of facilities and future programs. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to author, develop, assess, and maintain Engineering Design Substantiation documents for their facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements. This role is a 12 month contract, and will require 3 days onsite at the end client facilities. What You Will Do Define project requirements and stakeholder needs. Coordinate engineering support across the supply chain. Ensure compliance with organisational standards during design and construction. Supervise contractors' technical work and construction activities. Direct commissioning/decommissioning processes and maintain stakeholder communication. Uphold Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality standards. What You Will Bring Wide-ranging knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering. Design and substantiation of mechanical plant and equipment. Familiarity with UK statutory legislation such as PED, CDM, and the Machinery Directive. Knowledge of British Standards and current UK nuclear regulations. Experience across concept/detailed design, manufacturing, and construction stages in highly regulated industries. Conducting site surveys and project engineering. Authoring technical documentation and reviewing contractor documentation Many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance.
