The Community Enhanced Rehabilitation Team (CERT) is excited to advertise the role of a Lived Experience Peer Support Worker. This is a new service, providing access to an evidence-based community rehabilitation service offering support for individuals experiencing long-term, complex mental health conditions who want to make a positive change. This post will play a crucial role in providing a lived experience perspective.
Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has a well-established lived experience network, and you will receive regular support through the network, colleagues within the organisation, and the team itself. The Community Enhanced Rehabilitation Team understands and values the importance that a lived experience perspective brings to ensure that our services are successful in meeting the needs of those accessing them.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work within teams as well as on your own initiative, are essential.
Previous personal experience of receiving support from secondary mental health care services is essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to help shape the development of the service and utilise your own experiences/ideas to support how individuals access the service and how individuals can meet their rehabilitation and recovery goals.
You'll be working closely with the operational and clinical leads to frequently review service delivery, service direction, and service development, and will also support aspects of daily service activity. Building positive relationships with service users, colleagues, and stakeholders is integral to this role.
You will support the provision of high-quality patient services that are clinically safe, evidence-based, delivered cost-effectively, and meet the Trust's Standards.
The post will also involve working closely in collaboration with our Community Mental Health Services at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
