Harrogate Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join the Elmwood Outpatient Department as Department Manager and Leg Ulcer Service Lead.
The successful candidate will provide high quality, evidence-based nursing care in a clinic setting and facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the service.
Elmwood provides Medical and Care of the Elderly clinics and is also the base for the Leg Ulcer Service and Lower Limb Pathway to both inpatients and outpatients at HDFT.
Main duties of the job
* Take responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day management and nursing care provided by the Elmwood Outpatients.
* Provide professional leadership including line management, supervision/appraisal within the Elmwood outpatient department and Leg Ulcer Service.
* Drive the implementation of national best practice guidance for lower limb care across the organisation, collaborating with the Tissue Viability Nurses, Vascular, Dermatology and other relevant services.
* Offer specialist advice and support to healthcare professionals managing complex or chronic lower limb conditions.
* Contribute to strategies and policies for service improvement and development.
* Set standards of care in conjunction with other disciplines, coordinate services to ensure total patient care needs are identified; ensuring individual patient care is given, which involves regular reviewing and updating of patient information, working protocols, and pathways.
* Provide managerial advice and support to staff and patients.
* Maintain a safe working environment, being aware of the necessity to comply with Health & Safety regulations, maintenance and provision of equipment, bearing in mind Infection Control policies, decontamination processes, and COSHH requirements.
* Accountable for managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 per annum pro rata
