Job Description
The ATV Operator will be responsible for safely operating 4x4 and tracked vehicles and other company equipment as necessary across various terrains on client sites in accordance with Company and Client / site requirements.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
* Operation of ATVs/UTVs: Safely operate 4x4 and tracked vehicles across various terrains.
* Transport ATVs/UTVs to work sites using a pickup truck and trailer.
* Preparing machinery and tools for use and operating them in accordance with manufacturer and company requirements.
* Conduct periodic maintenance checks on onsite equipment and vehicles, including:
* Checking fluid levels (oil, brake fluid, coolant)
* Inspecting tires for pressure and wear
* Cleaning and greasing moving parts
* Washing the vehicle to prevent rust and maintain functionality
* Before each use, perform safety checks including brakes, lights, and emergency stop switches.
* Maintain accurate logs of maintenance performed and any issues encountered.
* Work closely with team members to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
* Mobilising and demobilising equipment in an organised manner and in accordance with company and client requirements
* Completing all necessary documentation and records in accordance with company and client requirements.
* Practicing site safety in all activities, complying with all relevant HSEQ policies, procedures and requirements and reporting any associated matters or concerns.
* Supporting and assisting the wider operations team as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
* Valid ATV/UTV operator certification (e.g. Lantra, NPORS, FMOC).
* Minimum of 2 years of experience operating ATVs/UTVs in a professional environment.
* Full, clean and valid UK driving licence.
* Experience with towing trailers and manoeuvring in tight spaces.
* Knowledge of basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
Desirable:
* Additional certifications (e.g., first aid, chainsaw operation).
* Familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
