This is an excellent opportunity to join the Legal and Democratic Services Team at Burnley Council. Based in the Town Hall Reception, you will be the face of the Town Hall, delivering excellent customer service as the first point of contact. You’ll deal with general enquiries from members of the public, manage visitors to the Town Hall, and support the smooth running of the Town Hall on a day-to-day basis.
Alongside this, you’ll provide administrative support to the Legal, Democracy, and Elections Teams. This could range from opening and closing legal files, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, providing admin support to the Land Charges service, and getting involved with the administration of local elections.
You should have a good level of education (GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade 4 or above). This is a career graded post, and whilst you might be early in your career, we will support you to develop your skills through qualifications, skills training, shadowing, and other means. Progression through the pay scales is subject to meeting the criteria as set out in the job description.
You will be keen and quick to learn, generating and applying new thinking, and will have a can-do attitude.
We can offer you an excellent package that includes a competitive salary, generous leave allowance, flexible working, subsidised car parking and gym membership, an employee assistance programme, and a strong focus on staff health and well-being activities.
If you have the above qualities and want to be part of our team, then we would love to hear from you. If you would like to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact us.
