We are recruiting an LEV Technician on behalf of our client, who is an HVAC Engineering company that designs, manufactures, and installs HVAC solutions for projects worldwide.
Responsibilities:
* Report to the Local Exhaust Ventilation Team Leader on operational matters, regulatory, and statutory compliance.
* Carry out a range of technical and engineering duties related to the maintenance of Local Exhaust Ventilation equipment and facilities contract-wide.
* Perform thorough examination and testing on Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems and provide high-level technical support on systems such as fume cupboards, biological safety cabinets, and other similar bench-top LEV systems.
* Work in accordance with schedules generated by the site engineering planning LEV coordinator, once process supervisor and laboratory users agree on a program of work.
* Conduct testing and maintenance work on LEV equipment and services, demonstrating the appropriate level of skill.
* Carry out the duties of a single skilled technician in the discipline for which craft competency is held.
* Lead specific jobs and direct other technicians or contractors.
* Investigate, diagnose, and rectify faults to a proven level of competency.
The Successful Candidate:
* Achieve high levels of operational performance with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a related industry.
* Perform DOP testing on all varieties of equipment.
* Experience in on-site PM, calibration, repairs, and surveys of LEV devices, primarily biological safety cabinets (BSC), AFOS ventilated tables, Protex ventilated workstations, fume cupboards, down-flow booths, and insulators, as well as some miscellaneous LEV devices.
* Previous experience within the airflow industry (LEV or HVAC).
* Qualifications within an engineering or scientific environment.
* High skill level for practical fault-finding repair and replacement of parts on LEV systems.
* Mechanically minded and skilled at assessing risk for all work-based activities.
* P601 certification required.
