Our Team
Our Digital Channels team work on and are responsible for the easyjet.com booking website. As part of the team you have the opportunity to develop front ends that handle millions of visits and transactions every month.
In Digital Channels we are transforming our technology and technical practices to help us to move faster. We have modernised a lot of the technology stack over the last couple of years and we continue to accelerate. There is a strong focus on improving our DevOps performance, and our architecture
Our teams consist of 50+ talented developers, architects, POs, BAs, QAs. The team are a mixture of easyJet developers and some of the leading digital agencies.
Job Purpose
Working in the digital channels team the senior developer is responsible for the code level development and maintenance of the easyJet.com front end applications, adhering to industry standards and best practice. The role works closely with architecture, business analysts, developers and delivery managers to deliver new products and services to meet the needs of projects and programmes within the prioritised portfolio. As part of the role you get to work with our other easyJet digital developers and with other developers from some of the leading agencies.

Someone who wants to work on one of the UK’s busiest ecommerce websites and work alongside other great engineers.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Accountable for the development and support of new and existing solutions to best practice and industry standards
* Accountable to prepare or support with designing and documenting technical solutions for functional and non-functional requirements.
* Collaborating with technical architecture and peers to identify and agree the technical standards, frameworks, tooling and patterns for the applications adhering to industry standards and best practice.
* Accountable to identify, mitigate or resolve technical risks within the solution, ensuring any risks or issues are clearly communicated and managed
* Provide technical expertise, guidance and perform technical code reviews ensuring consistency and conformity to agreed standards.
* Actively contribute during all agile ceremonies and the maturing of our dev-sec-ops capacities
* Provide technical leadership and support within the team, including mentoring, coaching and guiding more junior members.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
* Solid experience with React, Typescript, Node.js and ideally Next.js
* Strong experience with design systems (CSS, SASS).
* Strong experience and interest in TDD, Interaction testing, Storybook, Chromatic, Automated Testing.
* Experience or strong interest in micro services and micro front-ends.
* Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Elastic Beanstalk, Terraform, ECS/EKS, auto scaling, etc)
* Strong interest in DevOps delivery practices. Feature toggles, CI/CD, Automated testing, etc.
Soft Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Active participation in regular collaborative technical design discussions.
* Ability to challenge other teams on approaches, estimates and assumptions.
* Collaborating with technical architecture and peers to identify and agree the technical standards, frameworks, tooling and patterns for the applications adhering to industry standards and best practice.
* Provide technical expertise, guidance and perform technical code reviews ensuring consistency and conformity to agreed standards.
* Actively contribute during all agile ceremonies and the maturing of our dev-sec-ops capabilities
* Keep up to date with knowledge of current software development that could be beneficial to EasyJet’s strategy.
