A fantastic opportunity has arisen working for my client who are based in Poole, they are a business who provide Retail Office Equipment and they are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis.
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing my clients IT infrastructure. You will work closely with the team to optimise their systems and ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Address and resolve issues reported by end users.
2. Record, monitor, and update tickets using the Incident Management System.
3. Install and configure both software and hardware components.
4. Oversee network servers and manage various technology tools.
5. Establish accounts and set up workstations for optimal functionality.
6. Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance as per requirements.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve issues and outages promptly.
8. Ensure security measures through effective implementation of access controls, backups, and firewalls.
9. Execute system upgrades with new releases and models.
10. Develop expertise in emerging technologies and provide training to staff accordingly.
11. Generate and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
12. Collaborate with third-party support companies when necessary to address and resolve support issues.
Skills:
1. 1st- to 3rd line support will be required, when necessary, this will include supporting staff, Active Directory, Windows OS, DNS, DHCP, setup of users and deploying laptops and site visits when required.
2. Administer Intune and MDM solutions to manage and secure mobile devices, including iOS.
3. Possess strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including administration, configuration, and security features.
4. Manage Windows-based servers and workstations, ensuring their optimal performance and security.
5. Proficient in Cisco networking technologies, with hands-on experience in configuring and managing Cisco routers, switches, and related infrastructure components.
6. Demonstrated expertise in Azure cloud services, including hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, and other key Azure components, showcasing a solid understanding of cloud-based solutions and infrastructure.
