Our client, DP Building Systems, is a well-established distributor of cable management, fixings, bracketry, DfMA, and prefabrication to the industry based in Birmingham, with distribution hubs in Reading and Penrith offering national coverage.
They are a major stockist and specialize in tier 1 industry brands and manufacturers, such as Atkore, Fischer, Legrand, Zip-Clip, and Lindapter, offering full technical support to ensure the right design the first time.
Due to continued growth and a new Group Supplier contract with a tier 1 contractor that specializes in providing construction, engineering, and other services for critical infrastructure projects, they are looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join their team to build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and national accounts, which will also include managing HS2 related business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing strategic account plans to increase sales and revenue, owning the commercial relationship with the clients, and maintaining and growing relationships with all key accounts while achieving assigned sales and growth goals.
The role will include maintaining, developing, and growing relationships with new and existing customers, including working closely with suppliers and the management team to sell their full range portfolio of cable management systems.
The role will also focus on developing both tier 1 and tier 2 contractors that DP Building Systems has recently been approved as supply chain partners.
As a National Account Manager, you should be organized and able to analyze performance metrics. You should also have good negotiation skills and the ability to foster relationships with customers. Ultimately, you should be able to facilitate communication with customers and build long-term relationships to achieve business goals.

The Role:
Your role will involve selling the clients' range of cable management systems across the UK to merchants, distributors, electrical wholesale, M&E contractors, and end users, as well as targeting new business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the Group Supplier relationship and contract with Tier 1 contractors.
2. Involvement with HS2 requirements.
3. Develop customer account plans that identify relevant customer needs, prioritize initiatives, and establish a clear action plan for success.
4. Sell the company's complete product and service offering.
5. Lead all aspects of the sales process, calling upon others to support solution development, bid, and proposal delivery.
6. Work in a fast-paced, proactive telesales team.
7. Research and identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services.
8. Continue to develop new national business accounts.
9. Manage, maintain, and develop existing customers as well as the sales opportunities within allocated customer accounts.
10. Attend specific industry training, whether internal or from the vendor.
11. Work towards monthly and quarterly sales targets.
12. Collaborate with other parts of the business to drive successful business forward.
13. Maintain an up-to-date Sales Forecast and actively engage with Product, Delivery, and Operations teams.
