Smile Education are recruiting for a behaviour mentor to work in an SEN Primary school near the Handsworth area. The school is committed to supporting staff and working hard collectively to ensure the best education for the students within their school.
The Behaviour mentor role involves working full time in a classroom setting with a small group of students, Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 3:30.
The Responsibilities of the Behaviour mentor:
1. Have a sole focus working with small groups.
2. Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the child, staff, and family members.
3. Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher regarding progress and potential methods of work.
4. Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
5. Be consistent with the students and provide stability.
To apply for this Behaviour mentor, you will need:
1. An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
2. A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
3. Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small group work.
4. Experience working with KS2 students.
5. At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
