General Catering Manager - Swadlincote
Up to £38,000 per annum (DOE)
Monday - Friday - Days will be 6.30am - 3pm, Evening shift is 12pm - 9pm
We require flexibility to suit the business needs
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced General Catering Manager with a culinary background to join our team at JLR in Swadlincote. You will be providing outstanding service to the staff and customers whilst guiding and motivating your team to be the best they can possibly be. As the Catering Manager, you need to be commercially aware, with the presence and personality to influence the day-to-day business. You'll maximise the performance of your team, leading by example and setting high standards.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Managing a modern staff restaurant onsite, Costa and a smaller restaurant on the same business park
* Step in and support the kitchen team as required
* Adhere to all client and company Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times
* Ensure all displays, counters and seating areas comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements
* Complete, maintain and update all Food Safety and Health & Safety paperwork
* Manage and drive the completion of all compulsory training with all team members
* Conduct and monitor all stocktaking procedures ensuring minimal risk of waste
* Proactively upsell and demonstrate excellent knowledge of products provided to customers and clients
* Take responsibility for all monies within the business whilst on shift ensuring all Profit Protection Procedures and relevant paperwork is adhered to at all times
* Ensure health and safety issues are investigated
* Oversee the preparation and production of food to the brand standard
* Ensure company marketing material is up to date and relevant to company standards
* Analyse and effectively manage all in unit costs
* Monitor and manage GP
* Ensure cost and sales records are accurately inputted and maintained
About you:
* Previous experience as a Catering Manager in a similar environment
* Previous culinary background advantageous
* Excellent communication & leadership skills, able to engage and motivate others
* Experience in managing client relationships
* Quality and process-driven with a particular focus on delivering results
* IT literate (Ms Office and emails)
* Business management within a kitchen environment
