Structural Engineer (Timber) Location: Gorseinon Type: Permanent Salary: Up to £48,000 Our client: An independent specialist offering high quality made to measure products are looking for a Structural Engineer (Timber) to join their busy team in Gorseinon. Job Description/ The role: Primarily providing structural calculations & detailing for timber frame kits. Ranging in size and scope form small self-build project through to large timber structures like schools and nursing homes. Maintaining a knowledge base on a wide variety of technical and engineering matters, researching new products and procedures within the company. Assessing and evaluating new products and services provided by the company’s supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety (CDM) Provide Structural calculations for designers Provide line & point loads for client engineers Provide drawings and fabrication detailing for steel frames and connections Liaise and develop projects with client engineers Resolve any issues which may arise on site during installation Assist designers with queries and implementation Assist estimators with pricing and scheme developments Attend meetings with trade associations What we need from you/ requirements/ what you will have: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Timber Engineering (or related field). Professional accreditation (such as Chartered Engineer status or working towards it). Proven experience in structural engineering, with a focus on timber frame construction. Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar). Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking. Strong communication skills with the ability to present and explain technical concepts clearly.
