Powertrain Certification Engineer
Contract Until 31/01/2026 (Likely extensions)
Crewe (2 days onsite)
Hourly Rate: C.£30 ph (Outside IR35)

About the Role
Adecco, working in partnership with Bentley Motors, requires a Powertrain Engineer to support the Functional Managers with South Korea and USA certification to include the timely coordination, reporting, and success of on-time certification.
The role will be varied and boundless in respect of tasks and will involve parts procurement, working with people across the business; coordinating, reporting, documenting, and delivering data as required by milestones, gateway deliverables, and by the Functional Manager. The role may require supervision of emissions testing in the UK or abroad, and experience of vehicle diagnostics would be beneficial.
The role will require cross-functional dialogue with both internal and external customers and suppliers, which means the role demands enthusiasm, punctuality, effective communication skills, resilience, and a drive for results. Additionally, excellent attention to detail, a pro-active approach, and the ability to handle large volumes of technical data and complex technical issues are essential for this role.
About the Person
The successful candidate will have a sound engineering understanding of vehicle engineering encompassing Powertrain, Body, Chassis, and Electrical engineering. You will demonstrate:
1. Experience of Emissions Type Approval and/or Certification and/or legislation.
2. Understanding of how to create, monitor, and deliver an effective test plan including allocation of both resources (vehicles/parts) and time.
3. Korean skills are useful but not mandatory.
4. Familiarity within the Automotive Industry (Delivery Processes, Gateway reporting).
5. Prior Project Management experience in an Automotive Environment is useful but not essential.
6. A degree or relevant experience and qualifications in Engineering.
7. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
8. Excellent communication skills, resilience, and focus to achieve the end goal.
