Bulk Analyst will be proficient in all aspects of bulk sample analysis, ensuring accurate and reliable results. Reporting to both the Laboratory Supervisor and Operations Manager, they will play a key role in maintaining our commitment to high-quality asbestos analysis. Our mission is to make buildings safer, and we need meticulous and dedicated professionals to uphold our high standards.
The Bulk Analyst’s responsibilities are to:
* Book in and prepare samples received from site, undertaking sample analysis and reporting analytical findings
* Undertake routine quality checks assigned by the Lab Supervisor
* Participate in the internal QC programme
* Participate in the external proficiency schemes
* Ensure the safe use of substances
* Apply a professional approach and act in accordance with the requirements of the Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Policy statements and their associated procedures
* Keep up to date with current regulations and remain up to date on technical knowledge and skills related to job
* Providing technical support
* Ensure the cleanliness of the laboratory at all times
* Ensure the safe handling of samples at all times
* Follow procedures as described and written in HSG248 and ace documented in-house procedures
* Undertake other lab duties as and when required

Minimum qualifications held will include the following British Occupational Hygiene Society Proficiency Modules:
P401 Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples (PLM) or equivalent
P402 Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings - Optional
P403 Asbestos Fibre Counting (PCM) – Optional
