Position: Full-Time Job Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics & Finance
Overview: The Loan Operations Associate will be responsible for performing various tasks associated with the servicing of the Commercial, Consumer, and SBA loans. This includes the servicing from the time the loan is boarded on the servicing system through the payoff and collateral release phase.
The incumbent is responsible for cross-training on the various processes in servicing the loan and providing backup support as needed.
Essential Functions:
* Reviews and boards new loans to the Fiserv loan servicing system.
* Reviews new loans boarded and loan file maintenance to ensure data integrity.
* Records collateral liens for the Consumer Loans product.
* Calculates payoffs and provides payoff statements as needed.
* Processes financial transactions, such as payments, payoffs, and required adjustments.
* Processes loan lien releases upon the closing of a loan.
* Processes approved loan deferments and modifications.
* Processes approved requests to place accounts in non-accrual and/or charge off.
* Reviews and resolves non-posted transactions and ensures transactions are posted accurately.
* Tracks initial escrows for mortgage loans and remits funds to Loan Care.
* Processes escrow disbursements and reviews escrow analysis.
* Prepares collateral files for residential loans.
* Processes and resolves requests and incidents through 360 View.
* Scans and indexes files into Fiserv Director and stores legal documents in the secured file room.
* Reviews credit file images to ensure all pertinent documents have been scanned and indexed accurately.
* Reviews documents in active loan files to ensure all pertinent collateral information is accurately reflected in Navigator.
* Manages requests for loan documents and loan files; follows up to ensure files and all file documents are returned.
* Manages pending documents by following up with title companies and attorneys for trailing documents.
* Purges and archives files for paid loans as per Unity Bank’s retention schedule for appropriate file destruction.
* Manages the review and monitoring of tracked insurance, including Hazard Builders Risk, Hazard, and Flood Insurance by working with third-party vendors, contacting insurance agents, and customers to obtain up-to-date insurance as necessary.
* Communicates with customers and other business partners to resolve specific requests.
* Assists the loan servicing team with special projects.
* Provides backup to other team members as needed.
* Assists management with providing internal and external auditors with gathering files and additional documentation as requested.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
* Job requires strict attention to detail and thoroughness in the completion of job duties.
* Job requires thorough analysis of loan information and use of logic to address complexity of data and information.
* Job requires monitoring and assessing the performance of oneself, others, and the organization to make improvements or take corrective action.
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma.
* College Business Courses/Business Degree or related field preferred.
* 2-5 years of experience in banking, consumer, commercial, SBA, and residential lending operations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Knowledge of banking principles and practices, specifically servicing loans.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents, governmental regulations, and professional publications.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Ability to speak and write clearly to effectively convey information so that others understand, as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
* Ability to work independently in a structured environment as well as in a team environment.
* Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
* Dependable and willing to work extra hours as needed.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to sit for long periods of time, up to 75% of work hours.
* Ability to use hands to grasp, handle, or feel.
* Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information.
* Ability to talk, listen, and see.
* Ability to use telephone to communicate with customers and employees.
* Ability to use office equipment such as teller scanner, personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, adding machine, etc.
* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs., at least 25% of work hours.
Working Conditions:
* Moderate sound as in a business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
