About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant and supportive SEMH School in Southend-on-Sea. This long-term role offers you the chance to work closely with young learners who require extra guidance and understanding to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Contract: Long-term, full-time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Education and training
Your Responsibilities
Build positive, trusting relationships with students to create a safe and nurturing environment.
Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual student needs.
Assist in the implementation of behaviour management plans, promoting positive choices and emotional resilience.
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver a tailored curriculum that inspires engagement and progress.
Help students develop key social skills and self-confidence, both in and out of the classroom.
Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Support with emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and fostering a sense of achievement.What We're Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, ASD, or similar challenges.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Confidence in managing challenging behaviours with positivity and understanding.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in education or child development.
Experience in an SEMH, PRU, or SEN setting.
Team Teach or equivalent behaviour management training (or willingness to undertake training).Why Join Us?
