Job summary An opportunity has arisen for a paediatric Dietetic Assistant to work with our team of paediatric dietitians and assistant practitioner to support the delivery of the dietetic service to the children and young people on our caseload. The service is provided in a variety of settings including community hospital clinics, special schools, child development centre and patients own homes. You will be supporting the paediatric dietitians with the delivery of service to a variety of patients including those who require Home Enteral Tube Feeding. You will also be gathering information and screening/monitoring the nutrition of dietetic patients. As part of your role, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills. You will regularly be required to travel therefore, access to a car for work purposes is essential. You will need excellent communication skills to establish and maintain close working relationships with all relevant healthcare professionals and associated organisations to ensure multidisciplinary care that is of a high standard. You will be joining our friendly dietetic team and will be based at Sir Robert Peel Hospital in Tamworth which is conveniently located 10 minutes from junction 10 of the M42 and close to the historic City of Lichfield. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and contribute to the delivery and development of a community paediatric dietetic service in South Staffordshire. Main duties of the job Support the paediatric dietitians with the delivery of service to patients who require Home Enteral Tube Feeding. Assist with gathering of information and nutritional screening/monitoring of dietetic patients.
