Job Description
You will be providing administration support and backup to the purchasing function, ensuring that all support needs are fully met. You must be able to manage your own workload in a controlled, methodical, and analytical manner. You will also be required to identify priorities and resolve these with a sense of urgency. Attention to detail and data entry accuracy is key, and you must be able to work under pressure, often to meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Expediting outstanding purchase orders on both external and internal suppliers to aid the materials department in fulfilling customer requirements.
2. Updating the SAP system with the revised due dates for outstanding requirements.
3. Monitoring and recording the progress of all purchase orders and expediting through to final completion and invoice.
4. Receiving and ensuring supplier order acknowledgements are checked in line with our original order requirements.
5. Maintaining a clear focus on customer satisfaction and, along with the Senior Buyer, taking necessary action when needed to meet customer expectations.
6. Supporting the department with scheduling and raising of POs through PR to PO conversion.
Experience Requirements
1. At least 18 months of experience working in an administration environment.
2. Experience working within a purchasing/admin environment.
3. Computer literate - MS Office (SAP beneficial).
4. Possess a Business Admin qualification (an advantage).
