The Abbeyfield Society is a national charity dedicated to alleviating loneliness and isolation in older people by providing companionship in our supported housing accommodation, retirement apartments, and care homes.

We are looking for someone to join our team on a casual basis, covering staff holidays and sickness. Our bank workers play a fundamental role in ensuring our residents receive the support and reassurance that Abbeyfield strives to provide.
The Role
Your job will be to ensure the safety of our residents, staff, and assets by being vigilant, conducting regular site checks, and maintaining security. You will be the first point of contact in emergencies and respond immediately and appropriately to Warden Alarm calls. Your role may also include providing domestic portage, scheduled cleaning and laundry, waste management, and responding to emergency repairs.
About You
You will be customer-focused and passionate about improving the lives of older people. Friendly, sociable, and reliable, you will possess excellent communication skills and be able to read and write to a good standard. Self-motivated, you will be assertive and able to work independently, while also being a team player willing to help out when needed.
Good organizational and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to prioritize workload and remain calm under pressure. IT skills are crucial for all front-line roles, as you will be using computers. You should also understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.

Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references, and a Standard DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield.
