Finatal is working with a dynamic private equity-backed financial services business poised for ambitious growth through a buy-and-build strategy. Operating in a fast-paced and competitive market, we aim to scale rapidly by acquiring complementary businesses and achieving operational excellence. The goal is a successful exit via secondary equity sale or trade sale within a defined time horizon.
The business is currently circa £100m revenue looking to scale to £250m+.
The Role:
This is a role for an experienced and visionary CFO to join the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the private equity partners, you will be instrumental in driving the financial strategy, operational efficiency, and integration of acquisitions to deliver exceptional value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Shape and execute the financial strategy to support the company’s buy-and-build growth agenda, ensuring alignment with investor expectations.
* M&A Expertise: Oversee financial due diligence, valuation, structuring, and integration of acquisitions, ensuring seamless operational alignment and synergy realization.
* Financial Management: Provide robust financial stewardship, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, to optimize the company’s financial performance and position.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary financial interface with private equity investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders, delivering transparent and insightful reporting.
* Exit Preparation: Lead the financial aspects of the exit process, including deal readiness, data room preparation, and engagement with potential buyers.
* Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team capable of scaling with the business and supporting its evolving needs.
Key Requirements:
* Proven track record as a CFO or senior financial executive in a private equity-backed or fast-growth environment.
* Extensive experience with M&A transactions, particularly in a buy-and-build context, including integration of acquired entities.
* Demonstrated success in preparing businesses for a secondary equity sale or trade sale.
* Strong financial acumen with expertise in corporate finance, financial modeling, and performance management.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire confidence in investors, lenders, and board members.
* Commercially astute, with the ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on operational execution.
* Familiarity with the financial services sector and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
