An Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school in the heart of Richmond is seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join their dynamic team from January 2025. Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the school's provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
2. Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the needs of all SEN pupils are met
3. Monitor and review the progress of students with SEN, implementing appropriate interventions where necessary
4. Oversee and contribute to the development of personalised learning plans and support strategies
5. Ensure the school remains compliant with statutory SEND regulations and policies
6. Deliver training and support to staff to enhance SEN provision across the school
Essential Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
2. National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete within three years)
3. Proven experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting
4. In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation
5. Strong organisational and communication skills
6. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external partners to drive positive outcomes for pupils
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
1. Previous experience in a leadership or SENCO role
2. Experience working with external support agencies and multidisciplinary teams
3. A passion for inclusion and a commitment to ensuring every child achieves their potential
