We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Handyperson (Maintenance Craftsperson) to join our Facilities Management team at a school in Barking. This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
The role:
1. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
2. To carry out planned and reactive M&E and fabric maintenance, repair and new works tasks including statutory and mandatory compliance as directed.
3. To undertake training and qualify as Authorised or Competent Person for any M&E/fabric components as required
4. To carry out door inspections across the estate, including fire doors.
5. Working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with participation in the call-out rota across both schools on the Barking contract
The person:
6. Previous experience in building services to include all aspects of planned & reactive maintenance within large commercial buildings
7. Will hold basic qualifications or have good experience in either electrical/plumbing/fabric
8. Must have good IT skills
9. Hard working with a can do attitude and able to work unsupervised
10. Full UK Driving License
11. Computer literate
12. Good communication and customer focused
13. Able to work independently on own initiative as well as within a small team
14. Able to obtain DBS clearance (due to working in the vicinity of children)
