My client, RoseTree Group, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Officer to join our property management business. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, implementing best practices, and maintaining the safety of our properties and their occupants. This is a vital position that requires strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, exceptional organisational skills, and a proactive approach to risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance and Regulation:
* Ensure all properties comply with relevant UK fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
* Keep up-to-date with changes in fire safety laws and advise on their implications for the company.
* Conduct fire risk assessments and ensure appropriate remedial actions are implemented.
Policy Development and Implementation:
* Develop, implement, and maintain fire safety policies, procedures, and management plans.
* Ensure fire evacuation plans and procedures are current and effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
* Liaise with landlords, tenants, and contractors to ensure fire safety measures are upheld.
Inspection and Maintenance:
* Oversee the maintenance and testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment.
* Perform regular site inspections to identify fire hazards and ensure fire safety systems are functioning correctly.
Training and Awareness:
* Promote a culture of fire safety awareness across the organization.
* Act as the point of contact for fire safety incidents, investigations, and audits.
* Lead post-incident reviews and implement lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
Reporting and Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records of fire safety inspections, risk assessments, and training.
* Prepare detailed reports for senior management on fire safety performance and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant qualifications in fire safety management (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, IFE membership, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a fire safety management role, ideally within property management.
* Comprehensive knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
* Strong understanding of fire risk assessment methodologies.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple sites and prioritize workload effectively.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
* Experience in managing fire safety in residential and commercial properties.
* Familiarity with building safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022.
* Project management experience related to fire safety improvements or compliance programs.
