VACANCY: CHARITY SHOP MANAGER
Salary: £22,458.80 (35hrs per week)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (including alternate Saturdays) based at our shop in Rubery, but may need to cover our other charity shops across Birmingham occasionally.

Headway Birmingham & Solihull are a leading Brain Injury Charity, providing support, services, and guidance for people with an Acquired Brain Injury to improve their independence at home and in the community, leading to an improved quality of life.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and creative CHARITY SHOP MANAGER to work Monday to Friday including alternate Saturdays (35 hours per week) at our Charity Shop based in Rubery, Birmingham.
Duties include:
1. Take responsibility for the overall management of running the shop, managing stock sales, and the management of Assistant Managers and Volunteers.
2. Ensure adequate volunteer cover for all days. Seek to recruit volunteers as required and train new volunteers in all aspects of the work. Ensure cover is always in place in the event of A/L, illness etc.
3. Maintain a motivated, united, and happy workforce of staff and volunteers.
4. Ensure all monitoring of documents and accounts are accurate e.g., income sheets, sales targets, etc., and be competent using MS Office and email/online browsing & ordering.
5. Ensure all policies and procedures are followed accordingly, e.g., gift aid, volunteer inductions, Health & Safety by working in-line with HBS operation manuals. Be aware of Trading Standards regulations when selling items.
6. Liaise with outside companies regarding purchases and technical issues - e.g., the till.
7. Work to achieve and increase target sale outcomes for the shop, with the assistant manager and Head of Operations.
8. Ensure information about Headway's services is given out with purchases and displayed effectively. Be proactive in promoting Headway Birmingham & Solihull services.
9. Set up effective systems for receiving, sorting, and labeling items for sale and rotate merchandise accordingly.
10. Ensure adequate levels of stock are out on the shop floor, also in the back room in preparation and actively seek new stock. Ensure that the shop is clean, tidy, safe, and secure at all times.
11. Actively promote donations from customers and the local/wider community.
12. Provide occasional cover to our Charity Shop located in Great Barr. Full driving license preferred.
