Taitara Mahi – 3 Waters Operations Manager
Our 3 Waters Operations Manager is heading off into the retirement sunset in the middle of the year and so our search begins for an extraordinary operations manager to replace him. We are starting this journey early for an extensive handover period to occur. We envisage this role to start April 2025.
What are we looking for?
Our manager leaves behind a diverse, multiskilled team of Water and Wastewater Operators, Maintenance Contract Managers, and a Scada Network Engineer. You will bring with you an ability to mentor and motivate across multi-level roles, including interacting with our contractors, senior managers, and members of the public. Your well-developed communication skills will need to shine alongside your high level of technical competency.
You will bring with you a deep understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, compliance requirements, and regulations, especially New Zealand’s Water Services Act.
With the extensive handover period, it provides you with the opportunity to work alongside our current Operations Manager to learn from a highly experienced leader in the field.

To be successful in this role you will have:
1. A recognised industry qualification
2. Project Management Experience
3. Evidence of providing multiple sites with Specialist Process and technical advice
4. Experience with management and delivery of assigned process improvement projects and initiatives to achieve business goals
5. Initiative and the ability to work in a team environment
6. A cool and collected manner when working under pressure
7. An innovative and proactive approach to solving problems
