Customer Service Assistant (Duty Supervisor) At Scotmid Co-operative, we are focused on serving our local communities and improving people’s everyday lives through our different businesses. We’ve been doing this for 160 years, and we will continue to work hard to do this for many more years to come. We’re a co-operative, which means that we are run by our members for the benefit of the local communities that we serve. Scotmid food’s aim is to be Scotland’s preferred community convenience retailer and a key factor in achieving this is through our people. Our stores are open from early in the morning to late at night so a flexible approach is essential. No two days are the same and our Customer Service Assistants enjoy working at a fast pace, doing a variety of tasks from making breakfast rolls through to filling the shelves. As Customer Service Assistant your priority is making sure our customers have a great experience every time they visit the store, through friendly service, great product availability and first class hygiene standards. You may be required to prepare and serve various products which could include raw and cooked meat, alcohol, and foods containing allergens. You will also be on your feet for long periods of time, and many of our roles will involve some lifting, carrying and other tasks such as stock merchandising and cleaning. If you have enthusiasm, a passion for customer service, and excellent communication skills we would love to hear from you. As a Duty Supervisor you will be a key-holder, often opening or closing the store, and be hands-on in ensuring store standards are second to none and that the store is safe and legal. Training will be provided but experience in a sales or retail environment would be an advantage, as would previous knowledge of food safety practices. We are passionate about supporting, challenging and developing people to be the best they can, and we offer a comprehensive induction and training program to quickly get you up to speed with our business. To ensure that we comply with alcohol licensing legislation applicants must be aged 18 or over.
