The Opportunity
As a result of successful company growth, we are looking for an Electrical bias Engineer to join our operations and maintenance team based across the North West and then Scotland sites between Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee Regions.
As part of our O&M team you will be responsible for undertaking the planned and reactive maintenance of LTHW, steam and biomass boilers, air/water source heat pumps, CHPs, solar technology, Hydraulic Interface Units (HIU) and other developing technologies, supported by specialist sub-contractors when required.
Due to the nature of our contracts we provide a 24/7 service across multiple sites working to agreed SLA’s to ensure the efficient operation of assets is maintained and the impact on customers in the event of a fault is minimised.
The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader you will be responsible for:
* Completing scheduled PPM’s (Planned Preventative Maintenance)
* Statutory servicing of boiler plant including conventional gas fired and biomass boilers
* Electrical fault finding in panels and various equipment
* Carrying out "Out Of Hours" response as part of a call-out rota
* Identification and analysis of system/equipment faults
* Completing water treatment checks
* Performance monitoring of assets
* Providing reactive maintenance for loss of services as part of the team on call rota
* The coordination and supervision of sub-contractors/supply chain when required
* Inputting and maintaining documentation and records using the company asset management software
* Working in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s Health & Safety policy
The Person
Skills/Experience
* Time Served Apprentice educated to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or above in an electrical related discipline, with mechanical experience
* Experience of LTHW and domestic hot water systems
* Experience of water treatment testing
* BOAS qualification or equivalent in steam raising
* LV experience (Desirable but not essential)
* F-GAS Certificate (Desirable but not essential)
* Experience of following and working under a permit to work system and following safe operating procedures
* Experience of working with asset management software/systems (Desirable but not essential)
* Has a passion and interest in learning about emerging technologies within the Energy Market and supporting the drive to Net Zero
* Able to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels and to work to deadlines with minimum supervision
* Strong customer focus with excellent customer service skills including confidentiality, tact and diplomacy
* Reliable with a flexible approach to managing workload with the ability to plan work and meet deadlines
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including, Outlook, Excel, Word
* Full UK driving licence
