We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Rail Finance team on a full-time permanent basis based in Birmingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, motivated individual, looking to start their career in Finance. The purpose of the role is to provide excellent support to internal customers across our rail business sector at Amey and work very closely with Project and Commercial functions as well as the wider finance team.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, this role will primarily be support to the TransPennine Route Upgrade contract, turning over c£150m p.a. This role will also provide support to the wider Rail business areas.
The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
You will be responsible for:
* Calculating and posting accrual and prepayment journals
* Providing supporting information for costs in SAP and management information
* Retrieving invoices and purchase orders from SAP to support client audits
* Posting journals to allocate costs to the correct coding structure
* Providing support to Management Accountants at month end
* Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing these with the Management Accountant and resolving actions raised during the reviews
* Preparing management information for use in monthly business meetings
* Managing the timesheet process

* The ability to achieve tight deadlines with a high degree of quality and understanding
* Strong IT Skills and a knowledge of SAP and Excel is desirable
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders
* Proactive and organised with the ability to gain the correct information from stakeholders in a timely manner
* The ability to work alone and in a wider team
