As part of the English department, you will help guide students through Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring they achieve their best in a supportive and engaging environment. As an English Teacher, you will: Teach English to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. Prepare engaging and challenging lessons that foster a love of literature and language. Assess students' progress and provide regular feedback to support their learning. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall curriculum and student experience. Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider school community. Differentiate lessons to meet the varying needs of students, including those with additional learning needs. Maintain accurate records of student performance and report on progress to parents and school leadership. Set and mark homework regularly to support students' learning outside of the classroom. Contribute to the development of the school's English curriculum, ensuring it aligns with educational standards and student needs. Attend and participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. To be considered for the Teacher of English role, you must have: A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT (Early Career Teacher) or equivalent qualification. Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting, or a passion for starting your teaching career. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students in their learning.
