A renowned engineering organisation, experts in railway electrification, requires an Environmental Manager based in the Derby area. In a varied and interesting role, responsibilities will include: Providing environmental advice and support across all areas of the business Developing / reviewing Environmental and Social Management Plans and Site Waste Management Plans Ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards Producing reports and KPI statistics on environmental matters Identifying opportunities for process improvements and best practices Putting together sustainability case studies Making sure carbon reduction is a key priority Implementing assurance processes - auditing, inspections, assessments etc Being the point of contact between regulatory authorities, such as councils, Heritage England, Natural England and the Environmental Agency, and other third-party organisations Creating and providing environmental training, inductions and toolbox talks Carrying out site inspections and compiling reports Offering support, advice and consultation following any environmental incidents, near-misses or complaints Report back to the business on environmental targets, KPIs, audits, carbon reduction etc Conducting environmental risk assessments Ensuring all work is completed by agreed deadlines Requirements: Environmental qualification Background as an Environmental Manager, preferably within the rail sector, although applications are also welcome from suitably qualified and experienced professionals working in the construction, highways or utilities industries Knowledge of Network Rail standards and UK environmental legislation Member IEMA Driving licence This is a fantastic opportunity for career progression with a dynamic and expanding railway company.
