We're the Improvement Cymru Academy, part of the new Quality, Safety and Improvement directorate of the NHS Wales Executive. The Improvement Cymru Academy draws upon local and international learning, bringing new complimentary models of improvement approaches to NHS Wales, as well as integrating offers from partner bodies within Wales. This brings a wider and deeper lens to improvement science, incorporating patient safety, human factors and lean methodology, all with a focus on quality and based on a co-productive approach.
An opportunity has arisen to join the Improvement Cymru team as Business Support Officer to provide comprehensive business admin support to the Academy and Education Programme for Patients (EPP) team.
Main duties of the job
EPP Cymru has been a leading provider of self-management education and support in Wales for 18 years. Courses aim to support individuals with a chronic condition to develop skills to help them to manage their health and well-being, increasing confidence to take responsibility for their own care and make better use of health services.
Health Boards deliver EPP Cymru self-management courses to their communities, supported by the EPP Cymru National Team which provides support to NHS Wales.
This opportunity is open to those who have experience in an administrative role and have the key skills required.
Working as a Business and Support Officer, the post holder will join a pool of support staff providing comprehensive, confidential administrative, clerical and business support to the Improvement Cymru team. They will be required to communicate and liaise with directorates, divisions and stakeholders and produce work to deadlines whilst ensuring compliance with policies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Word processing to RSA level 3, or NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification on level 3 of the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales, or relevant equivalent experience
* An NVQ level 3 qualification in a business support related subject such as Business Administration or Management.
Experience
* Experience of providing business administration and support in a complex organisation
* Experience of providing secretarial support including the organising of meetings; taking notes or minutes; circulating and managing papers; and arranging venues.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office or Microsoft Office 365 applications.
* Experience in the management and maintenance of information systems
* Experience of procuring goods and services including the use of associated IT systems.
* Experience of expenditure monitoring including the use of associated IT systems
* Experience of supporting the development and delivery of events
* Experience of using Microsoft Teams
Knowledge
* Good working knowledge of business administration and office procedures, some of which are non-routine.
* A good working knowledge of legislation related to Information Governance, Record Keeping, Equalities and the Welsh Language.

* A high level of numeracy and written and spoken English
* Demonstrable proven organisational and time management skills
