About uSports:
uSports is a community, school, and nursery sports coaching provider operating across the Thames Valley from our central base in Woodley, Reading. We offer a wide range of sports provisions across the region, encouraging a love of sports and physical activity in children and young people.
Role Overview:
As the Operations Manager at uSports, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our business. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of senior staff, ensuring that all services run smoothly and efficiently. You will also act as the primary point of contact between the senior management team and the uSports Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management: Provide effective leadership and support to the senior management team and operational staff. Ensure that the team is motivated, engaged, and performing at their best.
2. Operations Management: Ensure that all operational aspects of the business run smoothly, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
3. School and Community Partnerships: With the support of the senior team, build and maintain strong relationships with schools, nurseries, and community organisations.
4. Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of our coaching services. Implement quality improvement initiatives to ensure that we meet and exceed customer expectations.
5. Reporting and Analysis: Provide updates on the performance of the business, identify trends and spot opportunities for improvement.
6. Business Growth: Actively push to develop the business by taking on new opportunities to ensure we continue our positive growth trends.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Ability to obtain a clear DBS.
2. Relevant qualification in sports or education, i.e., Level 2 or higher in any NGB sport or QTS status.
3. Proven experience in a leadership role within the sports or education industry.
4. Strong organisational and time management skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Salary:
£36,000 - £40,000 per year
Location:
Office-based role in Woodley, Reading with regular visits to partnered settings across the Thames Valley. This role cannot be a hybrid role and you must be available to be at the office five days per week.
Interview Process:
There will be an in-person group interview day in Mid-October. The successful candidate can expect to start in January 2025 with some flexibility on this start date.
