You will be the first engineering hire on the team. This will start as an individual contributor role with the opportunity to grow and manage a team as we scale Nila. As our first engineering hire, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Nila’s technology stack and product roadmap. What You’ll Do Product Development: Build and maintain a scalable, user-friendly platform for our eldercare solutions. System Architecture: Design and implement a reliable backend and frontend system to support rapid growth. Collaboration: Work closely with the founder and team to define technical requirements, prioritize features, and deliver outstanding user experiences. Innovation: Bring ideas to life by rapidly prototyping, testing, and iterating on features. Ownership: Take full responsibility for the codebase, ensure quality through clean code, and implement best practices in testing and security. What We’re Looking For 3-5 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development (frontend and backend). Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Node.js) and frameworks (e.g., React, Django, Next.js). Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Strong knowledge of databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and RESTful APIs. Ability to work independently and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment. Passion for eldercare, healthtech, marketplaces, building impactful products, and making a difference in people’s lives. Experience working at a high growth early stage startup, Seed/ Series A (Must) Comfortable working with cross-cultural teams in different countries. We have team members in Europe, North America and India - it is extremely important for us to build an inclusive work culture (Bonus) Experience with health-tech, insurtech or caregiving platforms. (Bonus) Familiarity with mobile app development and design.
