Engineering at Nila
Were building Nila to help families across the world care for their loved ones back home. Our product has grown from a low-code MVP (Airtable + Glide) to a full-stack platform, and were now building a scalable, robust engineering foundation.
As our second engineering hire, youll work closely with our Tech Lead and founding team to build, test, and launch core features that make a real difference in peoples lives. This is a hands-on role with high visibility and real ownership - from architecting systems to improving reliability, performance, and user experience.

What Youll Do
* Product Development: Build and maintain a scalable, user-friendly platform for our eldercare solutions.
* System Architecture: Design and implement a reliable backend and frontend system to support rapid growth.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the tech lead and founding team to define technical requirements, prioritize features, and deliver outstanding user experiences.
* Innovation: Bring ideas to life by rapidly prototyping, testing, and iterating on features.
* Ownership: Take full responsibility for the codebase, ensure quality through clean code, and implement best practices in testing and security.
Requirements
What Were Looking For
* 4+ years of professional software development experience
* Strong proficiency with TypeScript and JavaScript
* Experience building scalable React component libraries
* Experience with Node.js backends and modern frameworks
* Familiarity with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL
* Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
* Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms
* Experience with version control systems (Git)
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
* (Bonus) Experience working in startups or fast-paced environments
* (Bonus) Background or interest in healthcare or health-tech
* (Bonus) Experience with NestJS, Typebox, or Drizzle
* (Bonus) Knowledge of GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines
* (Bonus) Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Firebase
* (Bonus) Experience with agile development methodologies
