Main duties of the job
The core requirement of this role is to provide oversight and operational support for the provision of urgent care across the BSW system.The post holder will work in a matrix way with the localities and the Director of Urgent Care and Flow, Associate Director for Patient Flow, Integrated Patient Flow Leads, Urgent Care and Flow Advisors gathering intelligence and issues, resolving these where appropriate, or escalating them to others where required

BSW ICB have adopted agile working so this means the successful applicant will predominately be working from home but may be requested to work in any one of the ICB's office bases across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire. Job responsibilities
The post holder will provide leadership coordination for urgent care services, drawing from the delivery programmes with the three localities and Integrated Patient Flow Leads.The post holder will provide senior input to the Urgent Care & Flow Delivery Group, co- ordinating inputs from the three localities: leading and developing the delivery of theannual work plan in line with the Urgent and Emergency Care Plan, BSW urgent care policies e.g. Escalation and operational plans including the NHS Long Term Plan.The post holder will be the lead manager responsible for coordinating oversight, commissioner delivery and reporting on targets associated with urgent and emergency care for BSW. This includes ED targets and ambulance response targets.The post holder will facilitate performance commentary to the ICS governance processes such as the Urgent Care and Flow Delivery Group and other relevant forums, providing details on key risks, issues, and actions.The post holder will support the Director of Urgent Care and Flow in the production, coordination and monitoring of the system Seasonal Plan working closely and pulling together content and plans produced by system partners and led by the three localities to provide BSW oversight and ensure alignment with the Urgent Care and Flow Delivery Group work plan.To coordinate the urgent care and flow input to the development of demand and capacity modelling for urgent care, working with localities to ensure local assumptions are included.
The post holder will act as a commissioner representative for any relevant SWAST development or contract performance meetings and lead ICB actions related to the transformation plan to reduce ambulance demand.The post holder will lead the commissioning of the contract for Integrated Urgent Care, lead the interface with the Directory of Services team, associated transformation and service improvement plans, and the development of Think 111 First.To provide senior input and advice into Urgent and Emergency Care assurance processes with NHSE/I.To take the lead on specified BSW urgent care and flow priorities that may vary from time to time.To be responsible, via matrix management, to deliver commissioning to meet one/some of the key strategic objectives of the ICB.The job description and person specification are an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required and deputise as requested by the Associate Director and Director.The post holder will be responsible for supporting the UEC team with any additional urgent care information requests, including any urgent and emergency care reports that require submission to NHS England, Freedom of Information requests and complaints, and coordinating with colleagues for any specific information to support such requests being delivered within set timescales
Person Specification
Knowledge,Training and Experience
* Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
* Extensive knowledge of specialist areas across urgent care, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent
* Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
* Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
* Should have an appreciation of the relationship with NHSE/I, and the ICB and individual provider and commissioning organisations
