We are recruiting for a determined, relationship-driven sales professional to join our client who are the market leaders in precast concrete. A proactive approach to identify, develop and manage sales opportunities across a wide range of products into national & independent builder merchants, fencing/landscape supplies & garden centres. A passion for delivering an excellent level of customer service is key to enable you to plan your customer facing visits and develop profitable working relationships.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Develop and manage sales opportunities across a wide range of products
• To work with key accounts within the builders merchant/landscaping sector and develop new major accounts
• Ensure existing accounts are maintained and strong relationships are built
• Achieve projected sales forecasts
• To promote a full range of products to our stockists and ensure that targets for revenue and gross margin are met
• Provide technical support working alongside our internal team to ensure the customers’ technical needs and requirements are met
• Assist with new product development to ensure we stay up to date with market trends and competitor activity is monitored
• Identify and create a pipeline of sales opportunities to ensure long-term work including
exploring untapped markets to assist growth strategies
• Complete CRM system weekly to maximise opportunities within all sectors of the business
• Ensure all customers visits are updated daily on the CRM system and followed up as required to ensure the needs of our customers are met.
• To raise and issue formal quotations on our Qload system, adhering to good practices and follow up/convert to order, gaining feedback on current market prices.
• Site visits, factory support, training, troubleshooting, complaint management, sales support, managing customer expectations, presentations
• Attend a variety of sales related activities such as conferences, exhibitions & tradeshows to maximise sales and build strong customer relationships
• Carry out other reasonable requests made by the line manager to support departmental or company objectives
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies including Health & Safety
• Observe and comply with all good working practices
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
• Strong commercial experience within builders’ merchants & landscaping sector
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of growing business through relationships
• Knowledge of procurement routes with the commercial awareness to understand profit margins, high level negotiations and client development
• Strong presentation and communication skills to enable confident sales meetings both internally and externally
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Tenacious, highly motivated, with a passion for providing excellent customer service
• Adept at using Microsoft and Excel packages
• Methodical approach to solving queries
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and be self- motivated to arrange daily diary and work as part of a team without constant supervision
• Ability to prioritise work and manage several tasks concurrently
• GCSE English and Maths equivalent to Grade 4 or above
• Hold a valid driving licence
Desirable Criteria:
• 2 years minimum external sales experience preferably in natural stone paving
