💰 Pay Rate: £20.02 per hour
⏳ Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Energy Contracts Officer to join our team. This role is key in managing energy contracts, providing business intelligence insights, and ensuring that procurement strategies align with corporate goals.
You will work closely with senior managers, contract officers, and service providers to manage and review contracts, ensuring best value and efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy management while enhancing contract performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Contract & Procurement Management:
* Manage new and existing energy contracts for a range of goods and services.
* Support the Energy & Data Manager in contract management meetings.
* Ensure compliance with the Corporate Procurement Strategy and relevant policies.

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence:
* Analyse complex financial and utility data to generate meaningful insights.
* Provide expertise and guidance on contract management and business intelligence to contract managers across the Council.
* Use data-driven approaches to enhance contract efficiency and performance.

Service Level Agreements (SLA) & Stakeholder Engagement:
* Actively promote and sell the Energy Management Service Level Agreement (SLA) to schools and academies.
* Provide professional advice and support to senior managers, contract officers, and commissioners on innovative contracting solutions.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to review and improve service delivery.

Training & Mentorship:
* Train, supervise, and mentor junior contract officers and assistants.
* Provide guidance to teams across the Council on best practices in contract management.
* Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives to improve contract oversight and compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience:
✅ Degree or equivalent qualification in Contract Management or related field, or substantial experience demonstrating applied knowledge in researching, analysing, and evaluating information.
✅ Strong experience in contract management, procurement, or business intelligence.
✅ Ability to analyse complex financial and energy-related data to drive decisions.
✅ Strong understanding of public sector procurement regulations and strategies.
✅ Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing service agreements.
✅ Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
✅ Ability to train, mentor, and support colleagues in contract management.
✅ Project Management qualification(s) desirable (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
