Overview We are expanding our business and looking for a full time Electrical Control Panel Fitter/Wireman to work in our workshops. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of manufacture from: Design assistance Assembly Wiring Testing. In addition, although not obligatory, there is opportunity to get involved with the companies site activities. Installation Commissioning and fault finding. Servicing & maintenance. Background LS Engineering Services Ltd manufacture low and medium voltage motor control centres (MCCs) and distribution switchgear for the oil and gas, petrochemical, food and defence industries at its facility in Rackheath, Norwich. The equipment we build operates at voltages from 400V to 11,000V with current ratings up to 6300A and utilises circuit breakers, isolators, contactors, relays and other switchgear type components. The company also specialises in maintenance and modification of other manufacturers legacy equipment such as ABB, GEC, Brush etc. and provides specialist support to Laurence Scott & Electromotors, Centaur & Slendaur range of switchgear Main Purpose To build and wire control panels, motor control centres (MCCs) and distribution switchboards in our workshop. Duties & Responsibilities Team worker with good interpersonal skills. Be able to follow manufacturing instructions specifically created for the task. Ability to read electrical schematics and manufacturing drawings. Have excellent control panel wiring skills in both trunking and looming types Have excellent fitting skills for marking off, cutting and drilling etc. Logical thinker with ability to assist in the design and layout of compartments to ease manufacture Understand the need to co-operate on all health and safety matters. Use and maintain any PPE provided Report back to your supervisor with status of the work and any health and safety concerns Any other task as deemed necessary for the smooth running of the business Requirements Electrical qualification such as an NVQ in Electrotechnology, Mechatronics or equivalent at Level 2. 4 years panel wiring experience. Additional training will be provided to achieve a Level 3 Award in Industrial Panel Wiring (5 years experience required) Maintain a valid driving licence. Pass periodic occupational medicals. Participate in training courses for: Health & Safety. Product familiarity Professional development Other deemed necessary Read and participate in company announcements on electronic notice boards Be eligible to work in the UK Comply with the conditions and contract of employment Hours of Work & Pay Normal workshop hours are 08:30 to 16:45 Monday to Friday. Pay is dependent upon experience and ability but would start at £28,600.00 per annum. Overtime working may be required, when the workload permits. which will attract additional payments and/or time off in lieu.
