Our plans will ensure that we are organised and equipped to support our strategic goals and deliver fully on the empowered development commitment we have made to our colleagues.
We are building a new expert in-house learning and development team to partner with the business on strategic capability diagnosis, solution design and learning delivery. Delivered through our new Royal London Learning Academy, colleagues will be able to access the latest learning content tailored to their specific career goals, development priorities and learning preferences.

As a Learning & Development Partner, reporting to the Head of Learning and Development, your strategic role is key to aligning learning initiatives with business goals to drive sustainable growth. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across Royal London to identify capability needs, design impactful development solutions, and foster a culture of continuous learning. Your expertise will ensure the business has the skills and agility required to achieve its strategic objectives.
About the role
1. Proven track record in a senior L&D/L&D partnering role in complex, matrixed organisations of the design and delivery of professional, behavioural and leadership skills development.
2. In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
3. In-depth knowledge of learning evaluation methodologies.
4. Up to date practitioner knowledge of e-learning platforms, content management systems, and other relevant technologies.
5. Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to training and development.
6. Effective coaching and facilitation skills.
7. Commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills.
8. Microsoft office skills.

5. Project Management: Strong organisational and project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor multiple L&D initiatives and deadlines effectively.
6. Relationship Building: Ability to build credibility and engagement and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and external providers.
7. Adaptability: Capacity to adapt to changing business needs and continuously innovate in the L&D space.
8. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address learning challenges and develop effective solutions.
9. Innovative Mindset: A forward-thinking approach to bring new ideas and technologies into the learning and development process.
10. Curious, self-aware, open to feedback and willing to learn.
11. Able to take the initiative and display adaptability, resilience and perseverance to deliver.
