You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you. A little more about your role… The WSP Client Engineering and Advisory Services group sits within our UK Rail team. The group provides systemic and integrated rail solutions which are user focused, operationally driven, grounded in engineering and commercially sound. Teams within the Client Engineering and Advisory Services group include: Rolling Stock, Rail Planning & Operations, Rail Strategy & Feasibility, Digital Rail, New Technology and Client Engineering. Our Operations Advisory team is exploring how some of the most cutting edge technologies and operational approaches and practices can be harnessed and used on our rail network. Depots and Stabling forms a core part of rail operations and we have an exciting role to join our team providing operational advice in this area. We are a team of engineers, strategic planners and project managers, with experience across the rail industry. We can think technically, commercially and operationally. We collaborate with each other, other parts of WSP and external organisations to understand how we can make new technology a reality in the industry. This role will require the ability to co-ordinate across all of these areas to provide a single voice around depots and stabling to our clients and ensure they have a single expert to guide and advise them as they look to change and modernise their operational approaches in this area. We work on a broad range of early-stage strategic and development projects with a range of public and private sector clients including: working out optimised depot and stabling solutions, modelling depot operations using cutting edge digital twin modelling software and ensuring that depot and stabling operations are intrinsically linked with the wider concept of operations and timetables for the wider system. We work globally and the UK is one of the leading groups providing depots and stabling strategic advice to support our colleagues and clients across the world particularly for new rail systems. Being able to use contacts and networking to keep up to date and identify work opportunities and sell both your skills and the wider skills of the Rail Operations and Maintenance Advisory team.
